Capitol Hill - Once the neighborhood of Denver’s wealthiest citizens, Capitol Hill continues to wear its decadent image with honor, blending the past with the present, as ancient Victorian mansions and contemporary condos and apartment complexes dot the neighborhood. Also here in this historic neighborhood, are a bevy of ghosts.Ghost tours of the area tell of numerous entities who continue to inhabit this historic neighborhood. At the old Governor’s Mansion, ghosts are said to walk the halls, at the State Capitol buildings, a phantom woman in a long dress is often known to appear.

At one location, a house once stood that was the inspiration for the 1980 horror film,”The Changeling.” Though the ghostly tours offered of Capitol Hill vary, they often include the State Capitol, Grant-Humphries Mansion, the Croke-Patterson Mansion,Cheesman Park, the Brown Palace Hotel, and the Molly Brown House.

Union Square 6 Mann Theatre Lakewood, Co - In 1997 the theatre was haunted by an old man with a bad temper. Employees where teased and tormented, many quit. Even customers noticed him wondering around. Management had to bring a specialist. There is no further definite information.

Third Bridge #2 Smokey Hill Rd Aurora, Co - Travel east on Smokey Hill Rd and take a left at the stop sign when the road becomes one lane each way. Drive all the way up and down over the hills on the dirt road until you come to the third bridge. Local High School students have died there in and car accident. Drums can be heard in the distance and if people visiting the bridge are loud and obnoxious, the drums get louder and closer as though whomever playing them wants you to hear. It is said that an Indian massacre took place there in which settlers killed the men in battle and then returned and killed the woman and children of the tribe. Some have reported fog rolling in from both directions and have seen a man floating on a horse and other strange things.

Spontaneous combustion is the strange phenomena of when a human catches fire without any source of ignition.
The strange thing about spontaneous human combustion is that there is no proven cause so far. In most cases of spontaneous human combustion, the body will be found burnt, usually from the inside out, with a limb or two left to be found. Usually the surrounding area is not burnt, solely the body of the deceased. Spontaneous combustion cases have been reported for around 300 years.
The first official documented case of spontaneous human combustion was reported by the Danish anatomist Thomas Bartholin in 1663. He detailed how a woman in Paris was incinerated while sleeping. The straw mattress on which she slept was untouched by the fire.
One of the most famous cases of the phenomena was that of Mary Reeser in 1951 who was reduced to a pile of ashes except for her skull and foot.
In 1982, the township of Edmondton north of London, was shocked when they heard a local girl - Jeannie Saffin - had burst into flames while sitting beside her father in their home. Jeannie later died from the horrific burns.
In 1990, a Chinese newspaper ran a story about the spontaneous combustion of four-year-old Tong Tangjiang.
So what causes this strange event?
Some believe the phenomenon is due to bacterial action, similar to that which causes haystacks to burst into flames. If the centre of the haystack is moist bacteria multiplies rapidly, producing heat in the fermentation process. Bacteria in the human alimentary canal or stomach might cause a similar effect. But experts say bacteria could never generate enough heat to consume a human body– it takes over a thousand-degrees Celsius in a crematorium.
Another thing that deepens the mystery is that there is no evidence that any of the victims in recorded cases of spontaneous combustion try to escape or get help. They seem to simply remain sat down wherever they are.

The Max Headroom broadcast incident was a television hijacking that occurred on November 22, 1987 in Chicago, Illinois.

The first intrusion happened during a local newscast. It depicted an unknown man wearing a Max Headroom (a British, computer generated TV host introduced in 1984) mask sitting before a sheet of metal that resembled the original show’s background, along with a steady buzzing noise and no discernible audio. The hijack lasted about 30 seconds before finally being cut off.

The second intrusion cut in during a showing of Doctor Who, although this video came with distorted audio. The unknown man proceeded into various random phrases and antics, including a cut of being spanked with a flyswatter. The broadcast cut off after about a minute and a half. The above video is a recording from that particular hijacking. Fortunately (or unfortunately, damn), many copies of the hijacking were available from people who had been taping Doctor Who.

The hijacker was never identified.

A haunting picture of a ghost taken in a woman’s bedroom. The woman that took this picture in the early 1970’s was simply making up her bed in a new set of sheets and pillow cases when she felt something in the room. She couldn’t see it with her naked eye but when she took a picture and had the film developed she was shocked to find this image of woman staring back at her. This ghost picture has haunted her ever since.

In June of 1972, a woman appeared in Cedar Senai hospital in nothing but a white, blood-covered gown. Now this, in itself, should not be too surprising as people often have accidents nearby and come to the nearest hospital for medical attention. But there were two things that caused people who saw her to vomit and flee in terror.

The first being that she wasn’t exactly human. she resembled something close to a mannequin, but had the dexterity and fluidity of a normal human being. Her face, was as flawless as a mannequins, devoid of eyebrows and smeared in make-up.

She had a kitten clenched in between her teeth, her jaws clamped so unnaturally tightly around it to the point where no teeth could be seen, the blood was still squirting out over her gown and onto the floor. She then pulled it out of her mouth, tossed it aside and collapsed.

From the moment she stepped through the entrance to when she was taken to a hospital room and cleaned up before being prepped for sedation, she was completely calm, expressionless and motionless. The doctors thought it best to restrain her until the authorities could arrive and she did not protest. They were unable to get any kind of response from her and most staff members felt too uncomfortable to look directly at her for more than a few seconds.

But the second the staff tried to sedate her, she fought back with extreme force. Two members of staff had to hold her down as her body rose up on the bed with that same, blank expression.

She turned her emotionless eyes towards the male doctor and did something unusual. She smiled.

As she did, the female doctor screamed and let go out of shock. In the womans mouth were not human teeth, but long, sharp spikes. Too long for her mouth to close fully without causing any damage…

The male doctor stared back at her for a moment before asking “What in the hell are you?”

She cracked her neck down to her shoulder to observe him, still smiling.

There was a long pause, the security had been alerted and could be heard coming down the hallway.

As he heard them, she darted forward, sinking her teeth into the front of his throat, ripping out his jugular & letting him fall to the floor, gasping for air as he choked on his own blood.

She stood up and leaned over him, her face coming dangerously close to his as the life faded from his eyes.

She leaned closer and whispered in his ear.

“I…am….God….”

The doctors eyes filled with fear as he watched her calmly walk away to greet the security men. His last ever sight would be watching her feast on them one by one.

The female doctor who survived the incident named her “The Expressionless”.

There was never a sighting of her again.

Often called the case of the moving coffins, the Chase family crypt in Barbados was the location of an unusual haunting. During the years of 1812 to 1820, the six solid lead coffins were found thrown around the sealed solid rock crypt after people reported hearing strange sounds coming from the crypt. Each time the crypt was opened, the coffins put back to their original locations and sealed again.

This case was investigated by Lord Comberemere, the Governor of Barbados at
the time. In July 1819 Lord Comberemere conducted a test. The tomb was opened and the locations of the coffins were sketched (picture above). The crypt was then sealed and an additional slab of marble that took 4 men to lift was put in the entrance. In April of 1820, noise were again heard from the sealed crypt. The crypt was opened and the coffins were found moved about the inside of the crypt. After examining this, Lord Comberemere ordered all the coffins removed from the crypt and buried separately on the grounds of the cemetery of Christ Church.
